abstract A belt adjustment method, apparatus, and paper machine using the method and apparatus are provided. The belt adjustment method and apparatus include multiple adjustment devices that use chemicals to adjust the impermeable surface of belts of paper machines such as transfer belts and to prevent deposits on the belt. In one embodiment, the belt supports the web in the first portion of the loop of the belt and separates from the web in the second portion. The adjusting device is located in the second part.
