titleOfInvention | Method and apparatus for quenching flat steel products |
abstract | The apparatus of the present invention is provided with a high pressure slot nozzle (5), in which water out of the nozzle is sprayed onto a continuous metal sheet (4) to be quenched. A helical roller 3 is provided downstream from the high pressure slot nozzle 5 and assists in laterally flowing water over the lateral edges of the metal sheet. A channel effect occurs between the nozzle housing 6 of the high pressure slot nozzle 5 and the helical roller 3, resulting in excessive accumulation of water on the surface of the metal sheet. This excessive accumulation of water disturbs the uniform cooling of the metal sheet and, as a result, is removed by suction by the suction device 6, 12. This suction device has a first conduit 7, which is immersed in excessively accumulated water at the lower end, and at the top, which leads to the second conduit 8, thereby having two dilated parts 9. ) Are respectively connected to the suction pump, whereby water is sucked out to the side. |
