Improved block acknowledgment |
abstract |
Embodiments disclosed herein present a need in the art for improved block acknowledgment. In one embodiment, the receiver indicates the decoding delay for aggregate frames of maximum size in Block Ack negotiation, which means that the block acknowledgment is sent by the transmitter to which Block Ack Request. It can be used to determine whether it corresponds to. In another embodiment, a Transmission Sequence Number (TSN) may be included in the block Ack request. The receiver includes the TSN in the corresponding block Ack response. This allows the transmitter to determine which frames are "in transit". The TSN may be used to identify blocks. In another embodiment, the TSN may be associated with one or more transmitted frames. While the TSN is not sent with the block Ack request, the transmitter can determine which TSN corresponds to the block Ack response according to the acknowledgments included therein. Combinations of these techniques can be deployed. Various other features are also presented. |
