abstract BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a plasma display device, comprising a back substrate having a plurality of address electrodes and partition walls for partitioning a discharge cell, and a front substrate facing the back substrate and having a plurality of scan electrodes and sustain electrodes formed thereon. The scan electrode and the sustain electrode are formed inside the discharge cell to face toward the counter electrode, and a BM layer having a wider width than the scan electrode and the sustain electrode is formed on the scan electrode and the sustain electrode, and the inside of the discharge cell. The discharge space is formed between the formed scan electrode and the sustain electrode to improve the discharge efficiency during the discharge and to reduce the manufacturing cost, and to prevent the discoloration of the electrode at the part where the electrode surface is in contact with the glass, thereby providing a clear image quality. As a result, the efficiency of the panel can be improved.
