abstract It is to provide a protoporpyrronogen oxidase, a gene thereof, and the like having activity for conferring asifluorophene resistance. Introduce the Arabidopsis protoporpynogen oxidase gene into cyanobacteria, destroy transgenes of cyanobacteria using transposons, select strains in which the protoporpynogenoxidase gene is destroyed, and identify the destroyed protoporpynogenoxidase gene Then, the isolated protoporpynogen oxidase gene is isolated to identify the cyanobacterial protoporpynogen oxidase gene. This technique is effective as an isolation method for genes when proteins from other species, which are homologous to known proteins, such as porphyrinogen oxidase derived from cyanobacteria, cannot be found in the gene database of other species.
