abstract A tunable pulsed laser source is provided that includes a seed source for generating a seed signal and an optical circulator. The optical circulator comprises a first port, a second port and a third port, wherein the first port is coupled to the seed source. The laser source also includes an amplitude modulator comprising a first side and a second side. The first side is connected to the second port of the optical circulator. The laser source further comprises a first optical amplifier comprising an input stage and a reflection stage comprising a reflection filter in the spectral domain. The input terminal is connected to the second side of the amplitude modulator. The laser source also includes a second optical amplifier connected to the third port of the optical circulator.n n n n Pulsed laser source, seed source, optical circulator, amplitude modulator, optical amplifier.
