| abstract | A method of fabricating metallic composite strengthened with long fibers of shape memory alloy and metallic composite fabricated by the method are provided to regularly arrange long fibers of shape memory alloy by using a jig to fabricate the metallic composite having enhanced mechanical property. Long fibers(2) of shape memory alloy are arranged in a jig in one direction and fixed to the jig to fabricate a pre-form. The pre-form is mounted in a mold. A molten base material(3) is injected into the mold in which the pre-form is mounted to case metallic composite. The shape memory alloy is selected from a group consisting of TiNi, NiAl, CuZn, FeNiTiCo, TiNb, MnCu, FeCrNi and combinations thereof. |
