A lower refractive index can be obtained, can be formed at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, has excellent adhesion with a solid substrate, and has geometrical optical properties such as diffusivity and light condensation brought about by a fine structure. Provided are a low refractive index film and a method for producing the same, which do not impair performance. A silicon compound aqueous solution is a low refractive index film formed by bringing a silicon compound aqueous solution into contact with a fine particle laminated film formed by alternately adsorbing an electrolyte polymer and fine particles on a surface of a solid substrate to bond a solid substrate with fine particles and the fine particles. 1) Hydrolyzate of alkoxysilane (I) in which functional group consists of hydrolyzable group and non-hydrolyzable organic group and condensation reaction product thereof, (2) Alkoxysilane (I) and mixture of alkoxysilane (II) in which functional group consists only of hydrolyzable group It is a low-refractive-index film, and the manufacturing method of the said low-refractive-index film containing any one of the hydrolyzate of its, and its condensation reaction product, and (3) the hydrolyzate of (1), and the mixture of this condensation reaction product and an alkoxysilane (II). |
