In cleaning solidified polymer scales such as metallic filters, molds, pipes, and reaction tubes used in the production or processing of polymers, the polymers are melted at high temperature, carbonized, and then a specific oxidant is introduced at an appropriate temperature and concentration. The present invention was completed by knowing that the carbides were completely cleaned by burning the carbides or converting them into a form soluble in a solvent. |
