The present invention provides a nucleic acid molecule encoding a polypeptide consisting of two methionine residues as first and second N-terminal amino acid residues linked to mature eukaryotic histones through peptide linkage. The present invention relates to a vector containing the nucleic acid molecule, a host modified by the vector, a polypeptide encoded by the nucleic acid molecule, and a pharmaceutical and diagnostic composition. The invention also relates to the use of nucleic acid molecules, vectors, hosts and polypeptides for the manufacture of a composition for the treatment of diseases. The present invention also relates to a method or kit for testing the presence of a nucleic acid or polypeptide in a sample. |
