The present invention relates to a surface improvement process for composite moldings made of polymeric materials and their use in solar installations. Such a photovoltaic device may be a solar light reflector for focusing solar radiation, a flexible photovoltaic composite film, or a CPV lens (focusing photoreceptor lens) for focusing solar radiation. The surface improvement process is a self-repairing coating based on a crosslinking fluorinated polymer, for example PFEVE (polyfluoroethylene alkyl vinyl ether). Such coatings exhibit excellent optical properties and can be used in external applications, particularly in solar applications, over very long periods of time, and exhibit self-cleaning properties, in particular the coating is self-healed for mechanical damage - e.g. scratches. |
