abstract | A radiation therapy system is described that is configured to deliver a therapeutic dose of radiation to a patient ' s target structure. In some implementations, inflammatory eye disease, particularly macular degeneration, is treated. In some implementations, the eye structure is placed in a global coordinate system based on eye imaging. In some implementations, the eye structure in the global coordinate system guides the orientation of the automated placement system, which is indicated based on the eye structure in the coordinate system. In some implementations, the position of the eye structure is tracked and associated with the status of the radiological system. In some implementations, treatment plans determined for beam energy and direction and duration of treatment time are determined for the particular disease to be treated and / or the structure to be avoided.
