abstract There is provided a pulsed tunable pulsed laser source including a seed source for generating a seed signal and a light circulator. The optical circulator includes a first port, a second port, and a third port, and the first port is connected to the seed source. The laser source also includes an amplitude modulator including a first side and a second side. The first side is connected to the second port of the light circulator. The laser source further comprises a first optical amplifier comprising an input stage and a half stage including a reflection filter in the spectral domain. The input is connected to the second side of the amplitude modulator. Further, the laser source includes a second optical amplifier connected to the third port of the optical circulator.
