The present invention is directed to an energy efficient carbon dioxide sequestration process whereby a two salt pyrolysis process is used to cause heat and chemicals to circulate from one stage to another, thereby reducing calcium silicate mineral and CO 2 to limestone and sand . In one embodiment, MgCl 2 reacts with water under conditions to form Mg (OH) 2 , and the Mg (OH) 2 product reacts further with CaCl 2 and water to form MgCl 2 , CaCO 3 , and water do. |
