Urine markers for detection of bladder cancer |
abstract |
Early detection of tumors is an important factor in determining the longevity of patients with tumor diseases, including bladder tumors. Signs that are members of the BTM or UBTM group are highly and consistently accumulated / accumulated in bladder tumor tissues and other tumor tissues or accumulate in the urine of the patient, thus marking bladder cancer and other cancers. In some embodiments, the BTM or UBTM accumulates in the urine so that UBTM markers become a valid approach to diagnosis. In other embodiments, quantitative PCR methods are advantageous over microarray analysis. In another embodiment, multiple BTMs or UBTMs could be detected and quantified to increase the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of bladder cancer, leading to providing a method for determining the stage and type of bladder cancer. A kit for easily and conveniently performing the detection method of the present invention is also provided. |
