Methods and structures for forming anodic oxidation layers that protect and aesthetically improve metal surfaces are described. In some embodiments, the methods involve forming an anodized layer on the bottom metal so that the bottom metal surface is observable. In some embodiments, the methods involve forming a first anodized layer and an adjacent second anodized layer on the angled surface, the interface between these two anodized layers being regular and uniform. Photomasking techniques and tools for providing sharply defined edges on anodized and textured patterns on metal surfaces are described. Techniques and tools for providing anodization resistance components in the manufacture of electronic devices are also described. |
