The present invention provides articles and methods useful for sealing fasteners, including seal caps and in particular translucent or transparent seals or seal caps. In some embodiments, an optically translucent and optionally visually transparent seal cap optionally incorporates an optically translucent or visibly transparent uncured sealant, which seal is applied to the fastener. In some embodiments, the sealant is cured by applying actinic radiation to the sealant through the seal cap. In another aspect, a protected fastener structure is provided, which comprises: q) a fastener; r) seal cap; And s) cured sealant, wherein the sealant is optically translucent and optionally is visibly clear. |
