abstract The present invention relates to a method for increasing the content of scopolone of a genus Citrus, characterized by treating with copper or a salt thereof. Through this method, it is possible to increase the content of scopolar in plants of the genus Citrus, especially fruit. In addition, it is anticipated that the related fields such as functional foods utilizing citrus fruits with increased scoferon content can be activated.
