abstract |
The present application relates to liquid crystal compositions and uses thereof. In the present application, an optically isotropic liquid crystal composition containing a mesogen compound can be provided. Such a liquid crystal composition can be applied to various types of optical modulation devices and exhibit excellent effects. For example, the liquid crystal composition can be applied to a liquid crystal display, so that the display can be driven even in the absence of an alignment film. Such a liquid crystal display has no problem according to the viewing angle and can exhibit a fast response speed. In another example, the liquid crystal composition is applied to a so-called Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC), which enables the implementation of a normally transparent mode, and does not cause a viewing angle problem in a transmissive state. |
