abstract |
Discloses a bullet comprising a compressed mixture of copper powders comprising particles that physically combine to form a coherent and ductile microstructure. It also discloses a method of making such a bullet through a powdered metallurgical technique which provides sufficient properties to charge the bullet into the bullet cradle and crimp without cracking. Such a bullet has sufficient strength to maintain its integrity during firing, but can be fragmented upon impact and can be formulated without lead. |
