abstract The present invention is an inverse gradient structure that simultaneously improves the strength and ductility of an existing metal plate by simultaneously applying a composite shear deformation to a metal plate and then by heat treatment to ensure high productivity and at the same time express a unique microstructure called an inverse gradient structure. It relates to a sheet metal material, a method of manufacturing the same, and a continuous shear deformation field of the sheet metal material. The present invention uses a continuous shear deformation device using a single roll to ensure high productivity and induce a composite shear deformation to a metal plate. Through this, the metal plate undergoes complex shear deformation in the order of circumferential shear deformation, channel angular shear deformation, and surface shear deformation, and a relatively high amount of shear deformation is accumulated in the center compared to the surface of the metal plate. The recrystallization and grain growth behavior is heterogeneous, resulting in an inverse gradient structure with fine grains in the center and coarse grains in the surface. In addition, as the thickness of the metal plate is restored to its initial state after the composite shear deformation, it is possible to manufacture a customized inverse gradient structure metal plate according to the target characteristics of the evaluating party by controlling process variables such as the number of repetitive processes, process path, subsequent heat treatment time and temperature.
