abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing strips of stainless steel comprising hot rolling in an initial process (A) and subsequently cold rolling in a cold rolling line (B). Hot rolling is stopped when the strip thickness is reduced to a thickness of 2.0 mm to 6.5 mm. Subsequent cold rolling is performed in one cold rolling mill 11 to 13 at least in the initial part of the line, at least one annealing section 17, scale breaking step 21, shot blasting step 23 in the following order: , and at least one pass through said cold rolling line comprising at least one pickling section 26 , 27 using a mixture of nitric acid HNO 3 , hydrofluoric acid HF and optionally sulfuric acid H 2 SO 4 .
