abstract |
The present invention relates to an electromagnetic radiation detector comprising an entrance window 310 intended to receive a stream of incident photons and a photocathode 320 in the form of a semiconductor layer. A conductive layer 316 is deposited on the downstream side 312 of the entrance window and a thin insulating layer 317 is disposed between the conductive layer 316 and the semiconductor layer 320 . The conductive layer drives the photoelectrons out of the recombination zone, resulting in a potential lower than the potential of the semiconductor layer to improve the quantum yield of the photocathode. |
