A molded flexible polyurethane foam having a hardness gradient from soft to hard from top to bottom of the foam. A hardness gradient in a foam is the result of a foam elastic gradient that occurs in a polymer elastic gradient and/or in a density gradient. Methods of making flexible foams having a gradient of hardness and reactive mixtures suitable for making such flexible foams are disclosed. Also disclosed is the use of flexible foams with a gradient in hardness in mattresses, seat cushions (more particularly cushions for use in automobile seats), furniture, automobile under-carpets and dash insulators. |
