titleOfInvention | Fluid delivery device having an extended length catheter and method of using the same |
abstract | The device includes a housing, a catheter, and an actuator. The housing has a first port and a second port coupleable to an indwelling vascular access device. The catheter is disposed at least partially within the housing such that a first port of the housing receives a proximal end of the catheter. The actuator is disposed partially within the housing to selectively engage a portion of the catheter within the housing. The actuator is configured to move the distal end of the catheter from a first position within the housing such that the catheter extends through a second port when the second port is coupled to the indwelling vascular access device relative to the indwelling vascular access device. configured to rotate an angular distance relative to the housing to move a linear distance to an overlying second position. The linear distance is greater than the angular distance. |
