The present invention relates to a novel catalyst supported on an organic or inorganic support mainly comprising a compound containing rhenium and aluminum represented by the following general formula:n n n O 3 Re-O- [Al (OR) (L) x -O] n -ReO 3 n n n Wherein R is a hydrocarbon moiety such as alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl and substituted aryl or cycloalkyl, wherein R contains from 1 to 40 carbon atoms, the moiety being at least one alkoxy group or May be substituted by one or more halogens, L is a synthetic solvent, x is 0 or 1 and n is an integer from 1 to 10. The present invention also relates to a process for producing the catalyst and a method for using the catalyst in the metathesis reaction of olefins. |
