| abstract | The present invention relates to a pressure regulator including a housing having a chamber for receiving the pressure response member 30. The pressure pressure member 30 includes an internal filler 90 which allows the movable portion 68 of the pressure regulator to react in response to the pressure difference. A preferred embodiment of the regulator is formed by a zero ring 82 which applies a drag on the pressure response member 30 to solve vibration problems associated with high flow rates. Moreover, the damping force can be varied according to the present invention, moreover, the generally planar poppet retaining member allows for highly polished surfaces to reduce the manufacturing cost of the regulator and to solve impurity related problems. The regulator also incorporates a deflection device 120 to ensure that the poppet 68 seals against the valve seat when the regulator's internal pressure filler is lost. |
