abstract |
Title composite using carbon fiber as a reinforcing material and pitch as a matrix exhibits a superior mechanical strength. The 20wt.% sulfur-containing pitch is molten, impregnated into the carbon fiber, heat treated at 250-600 deg. C for 0.5-8 hours in the atmosphere of inert gas, pressure formed by a conventional method, and carbonized with maintaining the above conditions to give the high density carbon fiber reinforced carbon composite. |
