A fuel pump, a fuel filter, and a pressure regulator are supported in the fuel tank by a cover that closes the opening of the fuel tank. The fuel sucked up by the fuel pump flows into the fuel filter, which is filtered by an element and then flows out into the lower chamber of the filter housing. Fuel consumed in a fuel consumption device such as an internal combustion engine is supplied through a fuel passage extending upward from the lower chamber of the filter housing. On the other hand, water mixed in the fuel accumulates in the lower chamber. In particular, the filter element is mixed with glass fibers having high hydrophilicity, so that moisture is trapped and drops into the lower chamber. The water droplets are returned to the fuel tank along with the surplus raw materials through a pressure regulator installed at the bottom of the housing. |
