titleOfInvention METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THE CONVERSION OF METHANE IN SUPERIOR HYDROCARBONS
abstract The present invention relates to a method of converting methane into superior hydrocarbon products, wherein a gas mixture consisting of methane and a gaseous oxidant is contacted with a solid contact agent under the reaction conditions, characterized in that: i) the gas mixture is passed at a temperature of at least 100 degrees C, less than the reaction temperature, into a thin bed of the adiabatic reactor containing the solid contact agent, ii) the gas mixture is heated to the reaction temperature in the bed, by the conductive flow of heat generated by the reaction axially through the bed in counter-current with respect to the flow of the gas mixture, and iii) a reaction gas mixture containing the upper hydrocarbons from the bed.
