Methods for reducing emission levels during steady state conditions are described for use with a dry scrubber desulfurization system. A dry calcium hydroxide powder is injected into the gas flow path and soaked in the spray drier. The resulting suspension is then deposited in the filter bags in the filter chamber. This can be done at temperatures lower than the spray-absorber dryer can otherwise operate, it allows desulfurization to occur before the combustion process, particularly during the start-up of a cold boiler at room temperature. The operation of the boiler can also be supported, formed, reduced, or increased depending on the various operating scenarios. |
