| abstract | An insulating structure for an iron having a cover, a base plate assembly, and a housing placed therebetween with at least one electrical terminal extending through an opening in the housing. One end of the electrical terminal is in heat transfer relationship with the base plate and can be connected at its other end to an electrical conductor on a power cable. The opening in the housing is provided so that the terminal passing through it completely fills the opening preventing air flow through it. The opening may include a beveled surface to facilitate insertion of the electrical terminal. |
