The compounds of the formula (I), the formula (II), the formula (III), and the formula (IV) or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts or prodrugs thereof, are antibacterial agents. Compositions containing the compounds, the processes for making the compounds, the synthetic intermediates used in the processes, and the methods for the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections are described. |
