titleOfInvention | Method for preparing ethane and methylene from methane |
abstract | A METHOD FOR PREPARING ETHANE AND ETHYLENE BY REACTING METHANE OR A METHANE-CONTAINING GAS IN THE PRESENCE OF OXYGEN OR AN OXYGEN-CONTAINING GAS, i.E., BY PARTIAL OXIDATION, AT A TEMPERATURE OF 500 THROUGH 1000?C USING SHELLFISHES OR SHELLS OR A MATTER PREPARED BY ADDING ONE OR MORE METALS TO THE SHELLFISHES OR SHELLS AS A CATALYST IS DISCLOSED. THE OXIDATIVE COUPLING OF METHANE IS CONTROLLED SO AS TO INCREASE REMARKABLY THE CONVERSION RATIO OF METHANE AND THE SELECTIVITY TO C2+ HYDROCARBONS. SHELLFISHES ARE CONSUMED ABUNDANTLY AS FOOD AND A LOT OF SHELLS ARE RELEASED AS A WASTE MATTER. THEREFORE SHELLS ARE EASILY AVAILABLE NATURAL RESOURCES AND CAN BE USED AS RAW MATERIALS OR EXCELLENT CATALYSTS FOR THE REACTION. THE PRESENT METHOD IS EXTREMELY USEFUL FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF THE REUTILIZATION OF WASTE AS WELL. |
