| abstract | A water absorbent cloth (17) is spread flat on the floor. A broomhead is placed in the middle. The edges (19) of the cloth are then gathered into a bunch around the broom handle (4) and held in position by a manacle clamp. The clamp is made of plastic. Its two sides are connected by a hinge pin (12). It is closed by a torsion spring (11) whose ends (14) press against the clamp extensions. These are squeezed to release the cloth. Spikes on the inner surface of the clamp improve the grip on the cloth. |
