titleOfInvention Process for improving drainage rate and retention of fines during papermaking
abstract There is shown a method for improving the rate of drainage and retention of fine chips which are effective in unfilled newsprint-type pulp compositions without silica / bentonite type particles. The process includes adding a cationic or amphoteric starch and a cationic polyelectrolyte followed by the addition of a high molecular weight anionic polyacrylamide copolymer.
