| abstract |
In an automated clinical analyzer, data, for example, regarding the glucose level in a blood sample, is stored for transmission to a computer system. The data transfer includes an authentication password, which is generated using information such as a date/time stamp and predetermined information such as a fourteen day average glucose value. The computer to which the data is passed uses the data and date/time state value to generate a password which is compared with that transmitted by the analyzer. If the two match the data is accepted. |
