abstract The disclosure relates to wear level indicating filaments and the fabrics made thereof. Disclosed are filaments with multiple (14, 16, 18) layers surrounding a core (12) yarn, where the core and layers are distinguishable from one another so as to indicate fabric wear. Also disclosed are conductive monofilaments used to detect fabric wear, multilayer filaments used to create a guideline on a fabric, and a conductive monofilament that also has a contrasting colour used to form a fabric guideline.
