| abstract | A motion detector, network of multiple motion detectors, and a method of using such motion detectors is disclosed. The motion detector consists of multiple motion detector elements each having a preset field of view. An alarm signal is generated by a motion detector element when movement is detected. This alarm signal is sent to a detector controller which converts the alarm signal to a control signal for an associated camera. The camera is controlled to direct the field of view of the camera to match the preset field of view of the motion detector element that generated the alarm. |
