A system for wet milling biomass, the system comprising: a. a vessel comprising fluid having biomass dispersed therein, wherein the biomass comprises lignocellulosic material; b. a wet milling unit external to the vessel, wherein the fluid is pumped through the wet milling unit and returned to the vessel during wet milling; and c. one or more jet mixers, wherein the one or more jet mixers each comprises a jet head in the vessel, for mixing the fluid during wet milling. The fluid may further comprise a saccharification agent. |
