A process is described for the preparation of compounds of the general formula <IMAGE> and of the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which involves reacting a compound of the general formula <IMAGE> with a protected derivative of purine or pyrimidine in the presence of a base and in an aprotic polar solvent, and then removing the protecting groups. These compounds exhibit antiviral action. |
