titleOfInvention | FUEL ROD CONSTRUCTIONS USING THE INTERNAL SPACING PART AND METHODS FOR USING THEM |
abstract | 1. A fuel rod (18/19) containing:! a housing (150) defining at least a portion of the fuel rod (18/19) along the longitudinal axis of the fuel rod; ! many elements (160) of nuclear fuel located in the housing (150); and! at least one internal spacer (180) located coaxially with the plurality of nuclear fuel elements (160) in the housing, wherein at least one inner spacer (180) is configured to maintain relative axial displacement between the plurality of fuel elements (160) of nuclear fuel and is made of such material that it does not affect the physical and neutron properties of at least one internal spacer (180) during operation of the core of a nuclear reactor containing fuel rod (18/19). ! 2. The fuel rod (18/19) according to claim 1, in which the internal spacer (180) occupies such a position inside the housing that the fuel rod (18/19) has the required thermal, mechanical or neutron property during operation of the nuclear core containing the fuel rod (18/19). ! 3. A fuel rod (18/19) according to claim 2, wherein the desired thermal, mechanical or neutron property is at least a critical energy ratio of the fuel rod (18/19) or a hydrogen / uranium ratio of the fuel rod (18 /19). ! 4. The fuel rod (18/19) according to claim 1, in which the inner spacer (180) is made from a solid material having neutron absorption and a dispersion cross section lower than that of nuclear fuel cells (160). ! 5. The fuel rod (18/19) according to claim 4, in which the inner spacer (180) is made of solid |
