titleOfInvention ADHESIVE EAR TAMPONS USED FOR SEALING THE HEARING ACCESS
abstract 1. An earplug for use in holding the solution in the ear canal of a human patient, comprising: a domed portion for insertion into the ear canal, said domed portion having an outer surface and an inner surface; a valve used to remove the earplug from the ear canal; moreover, the pressure-sensitive adhesive on the outer surface of the domed part is in contact with the ear canal so that the solution is held in the ear canal for a period of time. 2. An earplug according to claim 1, further comprising a flange that surrounds the domed portion. 3. An earplug according to claim 2, wherein the flange is a 360 ° flange that surrounds the domed portion. An earplug according to claim 2, wherein the flange is a flange from 180 ° to less than 360 °, which partially surrounds the domed part. An earplug according to claim 2, wherein the flange further comprises grooves. 6. An ear swab according to claim 5, wherein the flange contains 1 to 6 grooves. 7. An earplug according to claim 1, further comprising a rod portion for connection to a handle through which a solution is supplied into the ear canal, said rod portion being contained in the inner surface of the domed portion. An earplug according to claim 1, wherein the pressure-sensitive adhesive is selected from the group consisting of silicones, acrylic polymers, butyl rubber, ethylene vinyl acetate, natural rubber, block copolymers of nitriles and styrene. An earplug according to claim 1, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive is silicone rubber. An ear swab according to claim 1, wherein the solution is selected from the group consisting of an anesthetic solution, bact
