titleOfInvention Deicing system for dome-covered satellite antenna
abstract FIELD: satellite communications engineering. SUBSTANCE: deicing system designed for use in bad weather to prevent interruption in ground antenna-to-satellite communications has dome that covers it to prevent accumulation of snow and precipitation on antenna and heating system that feeds heated air to space between dome and antenna to prevent snow adhesion to dome and also to prevent formation of frozen moisture on dome on occurrence of hoarfrost or small hail. One of system alternatives has electric, gas, or oil heater and ventilation system that functions to discharge air from dome-to-antenna space, to heat this air, and then to feed heated air back to this space. System is equipped with temperature and moisture content metering unit and with controller. EFFECT: reduced probability of communications failure in bad weather. 13 cl, 7 dwg
