abstract | FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: petroleum products are identified using reagents for developing color and fluorescence of markers added to petroleum products. Method involves preparation of petroleum product sample containing base-sensitive marker and addition of reagent containing quaternary alkylammonium base, which is prepared by dissolving base in fuelsoluble nonaqueous solvent.
