FIELD: nanotechnologies. n SUBSTANCE: 3D composite reinforcement, a multifunctional nanocomposite material with 3D reinforcement and methods to produce both are described. 3D includes 2D fibrous material, where carbon nanotubes are grown, approximately perpendicularly to the fibrous material plane. The nanocomposite material contains 3D reinforcement and a surrounding matrix material. Examples illustrate improvements of mechanical, thermal and electric properties of the nanocomposite material in direction across the layer, apart from considerable improvements of geometric stability in case of temperature variation and vibration damping, compared to basic composite materials reinforced only with the 2D fibrous material. n EFFECT: versions of nanocomposite material realisation may also ensure possibility to simultaneously perform multiple functions, such as simultaneous retention of thermal or mechanical load or retention of mechanical load with provision of monitoring over damage inside the nanocomposite material. n 15 cl, 31 dwg, 5 tbl, 19 ex |
