abstract | FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: described is an improved method of producing biphenyl derivatives of tetrazole of formulae (I) and (IA), which are intermediate products in synthesis of ARB (angiotensin II receptor antagonists or AT1 receptor antagonists), containing a (1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl ring as a general structural component. The method involves reaction of a compound (IIb) with a compound (IIc) in the presence of a catalyst with a transition metal or a catalytically effective amount of a metal salt as an additive with subsequent, if needed, removal of the hydroxy-protective group and/or the protective group on the tetrazole ring and oxidation of the hydroxy group to aldehyde. ^ EFFECT: improved method. ^ 23 cl, 11 ex |
