FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention provides a layered material for multilayer glass, which includes an interlayer film for multilayer glass laminated with a retarding element placed between an adhesive layer A and an adhesive layer B, where the retarding element contains a liquid crystal compound and at least one compound selected from a group consisting of a compound of formula (1), a compound of formula (2) and a compound of formula (3) given below. In formula (1), n is an integer from 3 to 10, a R 2 is a -CH 2 -CH 2 -, -CH 2 -CH(CH 3 )- or -CH 2 -CH 2 -CH 2 - group. In formula (2), R 3 is a -(CH 2 ) P - group or a phenylene group and p is an integer from 4 to 8. In formula (3), R 4 is a substituted phenylene group. R 1-1 , R 1-2 and R 1-3 in formulae (1)-(3) are identical or different, each representing an alkyl group having a branched structure and containing at least 5 carbon atoms.
