abstract FIELD: metallurgy. n SUBSTANCE: method for processing of oxidised nickel ores involves selective halogenation of oxidised nickel ore with hydrogen bromide at the temperature of 1100°C so that a mixture of volatile iron, nickel and cobalt is obtained, as well as condensed phase of mixture of calcium bromide, magnesium, aluminium and silicon oxides is obtained. The following is obtained from obtained mixtures by means of vapour hydrolysis and oxidation in the form of separate products: mixture of calcium, magnesium, aluminium and silicon oxides, as well as iron oxides and nickel and cobalt oxides. Bromine is completely returned to a process. n EFFECT: improving processing efficiency of oxide nickel ores due to recycling of halogen without any direct costs for electrical energy and consumption of additional reagents. n 3 cl, 2 ex, 1 dwg
