abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to a collector composition and its use in direct froth flotation of non-sulfide minerals. Collector composition for direct froth flotation of non-sulphide ores containing a) 50–99 % by weight of a mixture of fatty acids and b) 1–50 % by weight of an N-acyl sarcosine derivative, having the formula (I) (I), where R is a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon chain containing 7–21 carbon atoms, where this mixture contains 10.0–35.0 wt.% fatty acid containing a saturated C 11 hydrocarbon group, 2.5–15.0 wt.% fatty acid containing a saturated C 13 hydrocarbon group, 10.0–25.0 wt.% fatty acid containing monounsaturated C 17 hydrocarbon group, and 20.0–45.0 wt.% fatty acid containing di-unsaturated C 17 hydrocarbon group. Method of direct froth flotation of non-sulfide minerals, which includes the steps of contacting the above collector composition with an aqueous suspension of a non-sulfide mineral and foaming the mineral pulp thus prepared.
